Calaguas

It was the first time I traveled so damn far by land (9 agonizing hours to be exact, not to mention the 1 hour plane ride), yet I didn't regret a single thing. The destination was all WORTH IT. Friends from work who like me, enjoy the beach, planned a summer ender getaway. This time it's different. It was not our typical beach trip since it's so far from home. It was the famous Calaguas Island.

From Cebu, we booked a flight to Legazpi, traveled to Naga for 2 hours via van, then to Daet by bus for another 2 or 3 hours. We spent the night in Daet since it was already dark when we arrived. By dawn we traveled for another 2 hours to Paracale. From there we rented a small fishing boat (literally) to our so longed destination. We've been travelling the whole time and we haven't yet seen even a single glimpse of the beach, or even a shore. Finally we arrived in Calaguas, and just seeing the island from afar makes me wanna jump off the small boat I was in! It was ecstatic! No exact word could even define that feeling. It was indeed, the best beach I've set foot on.

Our friendship bracelets.:) Too ready for the beach.
What a very warm welcome! The Mayon showing it's beauty.

Mt. Mayon at it's finest.

Excitement on our faces!
Paracale port. Waiting for our bangka.
And finally. Paradise.
Never complete without a jumpshot!
Happy feet.
